The Christmas Tag

No one has tagged me to do this but Christmas is my favourite so I’m tagging myself!

1 What’s your favourite Christmas movie?

Elf! I just love it so much. I also like to watch Love Actually exactly 5 weeks to Christmas (as its when the film starts!) and Miracle on 34th Street was a childhood favourite.

2 Have you ever had a white Christmas?

I’m pretty sure I have as a child. I remember one year trying out my new roller skates in the snow and having to go and sit in the boiler cupboard to warm up afterwards! In recent years snow has cut short our Boxing Day festivities and I remember being worried about being snowed in at uni one year after everyone had left.

3 Where do you usually spend your holiday?

At my parents’ house. Tom and I have never spent a Christmas together in our 9 years as a couple, even though we’re married. We both just love our own family Christmases too much and since they’re 5 hours apart from each other it just isn’t feasible to do both. We’re still planning to spend Christmas apart this year, although the closer it gets the less of a good idea it seems when I’ll be nearly 39 weeks pregnant…

4 What’s your favourite Christmas song?

Whichever is currently playing really, I love so many of them.

5 Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

Nope, never!

6 Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Cupid, Comet, Donner, Blitzen, Rudolph… how many are there?

7 What holiday traditions are you looking forward to this year?

I’m not sure how our actual Christmas day will look this year but I’ve already enjoyed choosing and decorating the tree, festive films with hot chocolate and wearing my Christmas Jumper and PJs. You can read my whole festive bucket list here.

8 Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Real. My whole childhood we always had a fake one (oh apart from one year) but since living with Tom we always chose a real one and I love it!

9 What’s your favourite holiday food/sweet/treat?

Favourite holiday food definitely has to be pigs in blankets and for sweet treats Lindt bears and reindeer. Oh and I’m loving hot chocolates with marshmallows this year.

10 Be honest, do you prefer the giving or receiving of gifts?

In recent years certainly choosing and giving gifts that I think people will love.

11 What’s the best Christmas present you ever received?

I think probably when we got a guinea pig (who we called Holly – festive) as I don’t think I ever expected that wish to be granted.

12 What’s your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

Literally no where. I’d hate to be away for Christmas. I didn’t even want to go to the pub for Christmas dinner when my family suggested it one year. To the point where I ended up cooking for us all myself!

13 Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?

I like to think I’m pretty pro. I love to wrap presents nicely and have then under our tree for a while before giving them away. I’m struggling this year because I can’t sit comfortably on the floor to wrap.

14 Most memorable Christmas memory?

Hearing sleigh bells on the roof late one Christmas Eve.

15 What made you realise the truth about Santa?

I honestly don’t remember, but I do remember choosing to believe even after finding out the truth.

16 What makes the holidays special for you?

Spending time with family and all the little things that make the build up so exciting. The twinkly lights and feeling of magic and the cosines if it all.

Since I tagged myself I’m tagging anyone who would like to take part too!

Merry Christmas!
