A house move is potentially on the cards for us in 2017, and a lot of the properties we have seen so far would definitely need some updating! It’s got me thinking about what I’d like to do in those new rooms and how my dream house would look.
We absolutely love the house we live in currently, and if we could pick it up and move it to a different area we totally would! We have a large open plan kitchen diner, with solid wood worktops and tiled floor, leading into the conservatory and looking out onto the garden. The lounge is separate and cosy with a large bay window and picture rails to add that all important character. Our master bedroom is the perfect size for us and boasts spacious build-in wardrobes. The spare rooms make a great guest bedroom and office. The only room I’m not totally in love with is our bathroom, so this is where the majority of my dreaming for a new house has been focused.
In my ideal bathroom there is a free-standing claw-footed bath as the main attraction. I enjoy a nice bubble bath all year round and would love a big beautiful bath to sink in to at the end of a hard day. Free-standing also means no nasty grout to gather mould and need constant cleaning! I’d want a little shelf across the bath for my drink and book too. I think free-standing baths look amazing nestled into a nook in the roof space.
I want the space to be relaxing, clean lines and clutter free, so storage is important. Things need to be accessible but hidden. I’d also like to be able to keep spare towels in the bathroom, which is something that we don’t have space for right now. I’d also love a wooden floor and white tiles.
I would love a big roof window to provide lots of light to the bathroom, so blinds would be very important to make sure no one interrupted my privacy! I’ve been browsing the VELUX website and fell in love with their Venetian Blinds as they allow total light control, meaning I could have a Sunday afternoon bath in peace, without losing all of the precious daylight!
Ahhh a girl can dream right? I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what our new home brings (if we even end up moving at all!).
Thanks for popping by,
