Since finding out I was pregnant I was so excited at the prospect of joining in with the Me and Mine Project as a way of documenting our new lives as a family of three. Being due in January I liked the idea of starting a new project for the new year too. Our baby boy ended to making an early appearance so we became a family in December, however I definitely wasn’t ready to blog before the end of the month.
When I decided to document our new little family in photos, I had imagined them looking a little different to this. This grainy, poorly lit photo taken in the corner of our un-renovated living room at the end of a long day wasn’t what I had in mind. We had just been our for lunch with my sister to celebrate Tom’s birthday and made the most of being dressed (with clean hair and make up) and having a willing photographer. It’s a good job we did as we haven’t managed to get another photo of the three of us since!
This month has been wonderful. Our first as a family of three. A blur of sleepless nights and learning all about each other. We spent the first couple of weeks cosied up at home, sheltering from the snow. Then we’ve started to find our feet and venture out more. We’re loving our new normal.
We’ve also welcomed lots of visitors, wanting to meet our new arrival. The builders started work on the extension and Tom made lots of progress on the renovations inside the house too. In some ways it’s felt like a long month, and in other ways it’s flown.
I’m excited to see how our family changes over the year and am pleased I’ve decided to document it too. (I’m hoping to shrink as Teddy grows! Haha).
Thanks for popping by,
