#DECHOX is done!

Well April is here so that can only mean one thing, DECHOX is over! I survived 31 days chocolate free and I actually can’t believe it. I am a serious chocoholic and had some seriously bad chocolate habits before but I managed to break them all and survive a month without any chocolate at all.I did DECHOX to raise money for the British Heart foundation (you can sponsor me here) but also for my own health and to break those bad habits. I’ve managed to lose 4lbs over the month, which isn’t huge but its also not nothing. It would have been better if I hadn’t replaced chocolate with sweets over the first couple of weeks, until I realised that sweets really aren’t my thing. Oh and there was the week I ate out 3 nights…

Now that DECHOX has come to an end I’m determined not to go back to my old ways. In fact, after this weekend, I’m going to give up chocolate again until the end of lent. Even after that I’m going to limit my chocolate intake to weekends only (yes Friday night is the weekend!) to stop myself from getting back into those awful habits. I used to eat chocolate every single day on my way home from work, usually a huge sharing bar just to me. Its disgusting really. Over this month I’ve avoided calling at the shops on my way home. We order food online so there’s only the times that Tesco mess up or I forget to add something to the order that we ever need to set foot in a supermarket. Birthday presents and bits for school can wait to the weekend when I’m less rushed, stressed and tired and more likely to give in to temptation.

So I’m writing this with a bag on mini eggs, but unlike before its a teeny tiny treat bag and not a huge bag meant for sharing. I actually feel a little sick, oh how times have changed!

  1. Have you kept up with eating less chocolate? I’m also a chocoholic and would love to give it up but just don’t think I have it in me!
