60th Birthday Celebrations, a Nativity and Do You Wanna Build a Snowman? #LittleLoves

Last week we headed over to my Mum and Dad’s to celebrate my Mum’s 60th Birthday with a family party. We had a lovely time and it was great to celebrate the kindest most wonderful woman I know, who always makes everything so special for everyone else.

This week at school has been another busy one, but in a much more festive way, and a lot less stressful that the previous few weeks. Its been full of Christmas performances and very excited children, as well as all the boring things like data and some preparation for next half term. We’re finishing off the week with Christmas Jumper Day, Christmas Dinner and a Christmas Party, with the Big Man himself as a special visitor. Then if we’re still standing its the staff night out to mark the start of the Christmas holidays. I can’t believe how close they are!

This week I…

Really not a lot. I absolutely love reading and I’m usually such a book worm, but I don’t have a book on the go and haven’t seemed to find the time or head space to start a new one over the past couple of weeks. Any recommendations for an easy read to get me back into the habit? Or any festive reads? I’m hoping to have lots more time to read over the Christmas holidays.

My class’ Christmas performance, twice! We had to do two performances to fit all the parents in as all three reception classes joined together for the nativity. It was really lovely and the children did so well. It was lovely to see all the hard work of the past few weeks pay off.

My Mum’s 6oth birthday cake for her party at the weekend. Its not professional but I was pleased with how it turned out anyway, and my mum was happy! The personalised cake topper was from My Cupcake Toppers and you can get 10% off with my code OHJUST10

I also made my class’ Christmas presents, a Do You Wanna Build a Snowman pack with lots of tasty treats. You can read all about it here¬†and print of the tag from the top of the bag too. We gave them out Thursday and the children were so excited!

I will be wearing my Christmas Jumper today (Friday), to raise money for Save the Children. (I’m writing this Thursday night and haven’t quite decided which of my 4 Christmas jumpers I’m going to wear..).

The gorgeous Harriet Pug got her party hat on for the celebrations at the weekend!

Lots of Christmas songs on the radio, which is great as I haven’t found out my Christmas CD. Oh actually I’d better go and find it as I love to play ‘Driving Home for Christmas’ when I drive home from school on the last day of term…

And lastly…

After the work night out tonight, Tom and I are heading over to Nottingham to stay with some friends and have a Christmas meal tomorrow. Then next week I’ll be popping to school to set up for the new topic, having a film afternoon with work friends, wrapping presents, popping out for lunch with university friends, getting a hair cut and generally feeling very festive before driving home (to my parent’s house) for Christmas! Eeeeeek!!!

I’m linking up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat¬†again for this week’s #littleloves, I can’t wait to see what everyone else has been up to this week too!

Thanks for popping by,

Kimberley x

  1. Aw, your mum looks so happy. Love that cake and that snowman kit, what a great idea! Hope you enjoy the meal in Nottingham, I used to live there but it’s been 6 years now so I have no idea where’s good there anymore! #LittleLoves

  2. Wow, sounds like a busy week. The snowman kit is such a great idea and how sweet of you to give them all a little treat. I love the classic Christmas songs too, Step into Christmas is possibly my favourite – always reminds me of my childhood. Enjoy your weekend! End of term, wooo! #LittleLoves

  3. Belated happy birthday to your mum! I hope I look as fab as she does when I’m 60.
Loving the little snowman treats, what a creative idea. I know that my youngest would have been excited to receive that when she was in reception.
    Have a lovely week xx
