Bake Off Final, Sleepless and a Night in With Grace Kelly #LittleLoves

Friday is here again! Without quite so much of the usual Friday excitement as it means half term is coming to an end boo! We’ve had a lovely week and I’m sad its nearly over. We started off half term with a long weekend in Norfolk staying with the in-laws then a flying visit to Tom’s sister in Hertfordshire that was filled with lots of lovely cuddles with our newest niece. From there we headed to Worcester for a couple of nights away just the two of us, which I guess was our babymoon!

We’ve been home for a couple of days now getting a few more baby things organised and I popped to school to get set up for the next half term. We were hoping to be decorating our bedroom this weekend but after being let down by the builders it still hasn’t been plastered! Its so frustrating that everything just takes so much longer than we were expecting but I guess that’s just how things are.

I’ve had more time to read and watch this week which has been nice, but not a whole lot of making has been happening (despite taking my knitting around the country with me…)

This week I…

I finally finished How to Stop Time and loved it, I would definately recommend it. I’ve since started A Night in With Grace Kelly, which I hurriedly picked up from the library solely based on the colour of the front cover! I am looking for reccomendations for what to read next, what have you loved lately?

The Bake Off Final! We always seem to be away for the final and end up watching it in a hotel room, and this year was no exception. We stocked up on the obligatory cakes (cue meltdown from this hormonal pregnant lady when Patisserie Valerie had run out of Mille-fuille…) and settled down to watch it. I’m not sure it was exciting as other finals and non of the finalists were my favourite, but we enjoyed it all the same.

Last night we watched Sleepless staring Jamie Foxx, a crime drama about corrupt cops in Vegas. Tom thought it was fairly predictable but I guess I don’t overthink things as we watch them as I didn’t know what would happen haha. It was good to see areas of Vegas that we recognised from the couple of days we spent there on our honeymoon last year.

The tiniest amount of progress on the blanket I’m knitting for baby, I need to get a wriggle on if I want it to be finished on time! I’m still a pretty novice knitter though and counting every stitch means I cant really watch or listen to anything in the background for fear of going wrong.

Literally my whole maternity wardrobe! I only have just enough clothes for the week we were away as usually I only get to wear them at the weekend. Mid-week is usually just work clothes then pjs.

Hmm nothing to report here this week I don’t think…

And lastly…

This afternoon will be filled with paint colour choices (so probably several arguments too!) and tomorrow my bestie is over for the day. She lives all the way down in the Cotswolds so I don’t see her as much as I’d like, but she’s visiting her mum this weekend so is making the most of only being an hour away to pop over for some lunch and shopping.

I hope you have a lovely weekend x

I’m linking up with the lovely Morgana at Coffee Work Sleep Repeat for this week’s #LittleLoves and am looking forward to reading about what everyone else has been loving this week too.

  1. Wow what a busy week, hope you’re relaxing now. I’m with you on the Bake Off final I wasn’t keen on the final challenge either, a strange choice of cake. The best book I’ve read this year is Gail Honeyman’s Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine, sooo good. Good luck with the knitting #littleloves

  2. What a busy week you have had. Sounds amazing. Love the preggers top I need that. Will have to check out this book too. Happy bonfire night. #littleloves

  3. Ah love the top, and that book looks fab the colour would have attracted me too, have you read Caraval or the Night Circus they are my fave books of the year so far. I have totally missed the bake off final. Odd as I have watched it all along, just shows what a busy week does ! x

  4. Ha ha I would’ve chosen that book for the exact same reason! Sounds like you had a lovely but hectic week visiting everyone. Hope you enjoyed your babymoon and had some time to chill out. Good luck with choosing the paint x

  5. Sounds like a really busy week- I’m glad you got to make the most of it. We enjoyed settling down for the Bake Off final too- I’m not sure how I’m feeling about it at all this year- really didn’t like the extra 15mins- my focus doesn’t seem to last over an hour.
I hope you enjoyed the babymoon- love the t-shirt!

  6. I hope you managed to choose a paint colour without the arguments! Haha! I agree with you about the Bake Off, I think its because the winner was leaked. I was looking forward to it, but Prue leaking the news of the winner hours before was a huge letdown for me! I hope you have a wonderful week xx

  7. I felt the same about Bake Off. I wanted Liam to be in the final really. I felt bad for Stephen too as I thought he was really the best through out the whole competition.
I’ll be adding both those books that you’ve mentioned to my list! x
