I had a lovely weekend staying with friends and their two boys up in the North East. We spent a long time catching up and visited an aquarium. They’ve recently moved into a house they did up from scratch so it was great for inspiration for our new house. I also visited another friend this week who has a brand new kitchen after a renovation, so some more inspiration there!
School has been full on this week with an Easter Bonnet parade, over-tired and over-excited children and unclaimed poo on the classroom floor… Its ok though because today is the last day of term!
This week I…
Read
Nigel My Family and Other Dogs by Monty Don. This isn’t a book I’d have chosen for myself but we bought it for Dad for his birthday and when he finished it he leant it to me. Its about Monty’s relationships with all of his dogs over the years and is pretty sweet. We never had a dog growing up, despite asking for one every Christmas, so the closest I have come is my sister’s pug Harriet, and this book is making me want to own one even more!
Watched
The latest series of Line of Duty, a BBC police drama about the investigations of an anticorruption unit. We haven’t seen any previous series but Tom saw a clip on Gogglebox and thought it looked good, so we started to watch it this week. We’re really enjoying it, despite not usually watching police dramas, and cant wait for the next episode on Sunday night. I used to watch a lot of similar programmes but then got a bit jumpy and even New Tricks would make me scared to be home alone!
Made
#DECHOX is done! and I made it to the end! I have been indulging in bad habits again though so after this week I’m following a strict no chocolate during the week policy! Please hold me accountable to this haha.
Wore
I didn’t wear anything particularly exciting this week but all the children at school wore their Easter bonnets for the parade on Wednesday afternoon. Its a really lovely event for the children but pretty stressful for the teachers, with over-excited children, unnamed bonnets and bits of decoration falling off left right and centre.
Heard
Myself saying things you probably wouldn’t say in any other job, such as ‘has anyone had a poo accident’ ‘there’s some poo on my floor and I don’t know who’s it is’ you know, that sort of thing…
And lastly…
At the end of the day the Easter holidays are here! I cannot wait. We’re doing some house stuff this weekend, I’m setting up my classroom on Monday and then I have plans for some lazy days, catching up with friends, seeing family and hopefully finding the time to work on my blog too.
I hope you all have a good week. I’m linking up with the lovely Morgana at Coffee Work Sleep Repeat for this week’s #LittleLoves and am looking forward to reading about what everyone else has been loving this week too.
Thanks for popping by,
Kimberley x
I’m also a huge Line of Duty fan, so gripping! Though the end of the first episode did have me questioning a lot?! Happy Easter holidays – hope you enjoy a well deserved rest 🙂 #LittleLoves
