Pug Love, Christmas Markets and the Dreaded Sickness Bug #LittleLoves

On Saturday my lovely sister got the train over for the day with her little pug Harriet. We met them at the Christmas Markets (another off my Festive Bucket List!) then headed to Meadowhall for a spot of Christmas shopping. Zöe left Harriet here for the week as she had some long shifts and no pup-care. The lovely day was spoilt when I was struck by the sickness bug that evening. I wont go into details, no one needs that much information, but it was HORRENDOUS! It completely wiped me out and I spent Sunday to Wednesday recovering on the sofa. I was pretty happy to have Harriet for company, but I think she got fed up on the constant nap times and pug snuggles and started to find me a little boring!

This week I…

Not a lot really, I haven’t even had the energy to read (I’m sounding really pathetic now aren’t I?!?). I have read the first few Christmas cards that have dropped through our letter box. I LOVE getting post, and its so exciting that they are addressed to us a married couple for the first time this year eeek!

So many Vlogmas videos! I’m loving having so many videos from my favourites to watch, and its a bonus that they’re so festive too.

In particular I’m loving…

Charlotte Taylor

Mrs Meldrum

Katie Ellison Mummy Daddy Me

Lucy Dear Beautiful

Jenny Let’s Talk Mommy

I’m sure I’ve forgotten some and if you have any suggestions I’d love to hear them too!

This was actually one from last week, I haven’t had much of an appetite this week, but since the post went live this week I thought I’d be cheeky and include it! Its edamame spaghetti (from The Food Market) with prawns and pesto. Its so tasty and really simple to make for a quick mid-week dinner. Its also low-syn (for any Slimming Worlders) and low-carb and high protein. If you’re interested you can find the recipe here.

I’m also making my mum’s 60th birthday cake but that’s top secret until the weekend so I’ll have to wait until next week to share it shhhh.

My pyjamas most of the week, it wasn’t pretty. My festive pug friend on the other hand wore this adorable elf outfit!

Some hilarious comments from the children during a play rehearsal.

‘Oh did you hear that? I just trumped right on your leg’

‘I’m actually baby Jesus’ Dad’

‘Oh baby Jesus you’re right heavy. You’re growing already’

‘Ew it stinks. Baby Jesus have you pooed?’

‘I’ve made this for baby Jesus. It’s a real present so he can open it’

And lastly…

We’re having a party for my mum’s 60th this weekend and I can’t wait. She really deserves to be spoilt and I just hope the cake lives up to expectations. Then just one last week of work to get through before the much needed Christmas break, it will be full of nativity performances, Christmas parties and I imagine some very excited children!

I’m linking up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat again for this week’s #littleloves, I can’t wait to see what everyone else has been up to this week too!

Thanks for popping by,

Kimberley x

  1. Love the quotations from the kids, so funny! Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell, hopefully you’re on the mend now. i’m so behind with vlogmas, found it a little overwhelming this year. Not enough time! Hope you’ve had a good weekend xx

  2. So sorry that you’ve been poorly! The kind of sickness bug is the worst.
Your sister’s pug is so cute! My eldest is desperate for one but my husband is having none of it. Boo.
Love the look of your endamame spaghetti, off to check the post out now!
