This week hasn’t been all that exciting, and that suits me just fine! It started with another weekend clearing out at home, with a little break to pop of for lunch. The week at work has been steady and much more enjoyable than last week too. Its nice to be reflecting on the little things that I have enjoyed been enjoying in a week where nothing big has stood out.

The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Way to Live Well (Penguin Life) The Little Book of Hygge, which was a Christmas gift from my sister (that I’d asked for and ordered myself haha). Its really lovely and a good read to dip in and out of. Its interesting to read and lots of the things on the ‘hygge manifesto’ are things I find myself seeking out all of the time already.

I’m also not finished reading ” target=”_blank”>The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up and am dipping in and out of that too. Its unusual for me to not have a novem on the go as I don’t read non-fiction all that often. I’m hoping that these two books will lead to a happy, cosy and content 2017.

Watched

The second episode of the new series of Sherlock and while I really enjoyed it it did freak me out a little bit and was playing on my mind through the night (it was pretty tame, this is why I never watching any thrillers or murder investigation programmes!).

We also watched the last Bake Off Christmas Special and I got seriously emotional at the goodbye BBC sequence at the end. Please tell me I’m not the only one who cried at this?!?

As I’m writing this on Thursday evening I’m baking Tom’s birthday cake ready for tomorrow! No photos as of yet as its still in the oven.

I’ve also been trying out some new Slimming World recipes to vary what we’re eating each week, including this fish pie.

Wore

My gym kit! At long last haha. I did a Body Coach HIIT workout on Monday and went for a power walk with a friend from work on Wednesday. Its feels good to be back exercising again so I’m determined to keep it up and increase the number of workouts I’m doing this week.

Heard

The two new Ed Sheeran songs, like everyone else I imagine. I like them but not as much as his old stuff, maybe they’ll grow on me…

And lastly…

Today is Tom’s birthday so we’re heading down to Norfolk this evening to spend the weekend with his family. Luckily I’m on a course today so will finish earlier than usual so we might actually make it before midnight for a change…

  3. Oh everyone is talking about Sherlock this week it would seem. I must check it out. I need to also check out the hygge books they seem a great rave this year and last. Hope it will help make a balance in my life. I have the other book it’s fab isn’t it? I also have increased my exercise normally I am crap at getting to a gym or doing anything but hoping this year is different. You sound like you are on track for a healthy better year lovely.   4. I need to do more exercise. Even though I’m a dance teacher, I find that I don’t always get to do it for me at work (if that makes sense). I’ve thought about doing some yoga at home, relaxing and beneficial. I need to read that Hygge book, a trip to the library is in order. Enjoy your weekend in Norfolk xx

  5. I’ve got both of those books, I’ve read the hygge one and I’m just starting on the other. The Ed Sheeran songs are definitely growers, I wasn’t sure on them to begin with but now I can’t get shape of you out of my head! X

  6. I’m glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t like watching scary stuff! Game of Thrones is probably the scariest I’ll ever get. I even watch Crimewatch through my fingers and I used to work for the police! Two books I have on my list to read. I really need to get reading as I have a ton lined up on my kindle and loads of others on my ‘to read’ list too. Those HIIT workouts look like absolute killers, but they sure seem to get results.
