The Elephant in the Mirror, Dinosaurs and Winter Wonderland #LittleLoves

After work last Friday we drove down to London to stay with Tom’s sister and her husband. We had a lovely day walking along Portobello Road, through Kensington gardens and to Hyde Park. We went to Winter Wonderland which was really lovely and got us  in the festive spirit, so much so that we may have bought our Christmas tree on Sunday…We drove home late Saturday night to have a much needed day at home on Sunday. 223

We spent hours on Sunday afternoon trying to sort out my phone, which had got too full to function! I’m such a photo hoarder. It took forever and I ended up having to restore my phone from its last back up in August. Luckily all of my photos were safe on my laptop but I lost all of my messages, open web pages etc. which was a bit rubbish. I now have no photos at all on my phone which is very strange, so I apologise for the quality/lack of photos in this post.

This week I…

I’ve been reading The Elephant in the Mirror by Annette Earl, a holistic approach to how we see ourselves inside and out, for anyone who has ever looked in the mirror and felt they weren’t good enough. Its a the first self-help book I’ve ever read and I’m really enjoying it so far. I haven’t read a lot at the moment, I’ve been falling asleep as soon as my head touches the pillow this week, but what I have read has been very interesting. Annette has made me think and made me smile in the few short chapters I’ve read and I can’t wait to read more over the weekend. You can get Annette book here and the kindle version is FREE from the 1st-3rd December! There are little tasks to complete as you read and if you download the kindle version (or don’t like writing in books) you can print these off here.

…lots of festivities at Winter Wonderland. I’ve never been before and it was very lovely. I don’t think I’d make the trip to London especially though, as Manchester Christmas markets have everything I need really, since I really don’t like rides!

These cute little dinosaur name cards that have been working wonders for children who were previously struggling to write their name. They attach the pegs in the right order then copy their name underneath using a whiteboard marker on the laminated dinosaur. So simple yet very effective.

Struggling with this one a little this week. I’ve pretty much just worn the same old things I always wear for work, which is nothing new or nice due to it being highly likely that someone will splatter me with paint, use my top as a tissue or accidentally chop my clothes with scissors over the course of a day!

My children practising the songs for our nativity, lots! It always amazes me how quickly they learn them and I do love to hear them sing. I’ve been known to get a little emotional at the performances… The song ‘We’re so Angelic’ always makes us laugh, they do have their moments I guess!

And lastly…

Tom’s mum is staying with us this weekend and I’m very much looking forward to visiting the Chatsworth Christmas House and Markets on Sunday!

Oh and don’t forget, you can get 10% off at Morse Toad with my code mylittle right up until Christmas Day!

I’m linking up with Coffee Work Sleep Repeat again for this week’s #littleloves, I can’t wait to see what everyone else has been up to this week too!

Thanks for popping by,

Kimberley x

  1. What a wonderful weekend in London! That book looks like something I need to read, thanks for the tip. And those dinosaurs! What a fab idea 🙂 Hope you have a great weekend x #LittleLoves

  2. Those creative little dinosaurs are fab! My girls would have loved doing that when they were little. I love creative teaching methods.
I’m desperate to go to a Christmas Market now. Unfortunately my husband hates them so I might have to do a little solo trip, or take the girls without him.
    Enjoy Chatsworth this weekend xx

  3. Those dinosaurs look great. May have to steal that idea for my little one as he’s reluctant to write his name. Winter Wonderland looks gorgeous, I’ve always wanted to go. And that book sounds like a great read, just added it to my wishlist on Amazon. Hope you had a nice day out today x
