The Big Baby Buys

I feel like we’ve been pretty laid back about buying things for the baby but I think we now have all of the big things we need. There’s always Amazon Prime for the things we realise we need as we go along right?

These are the ‘big’ things we’ve bought so far.

Bugaboo Bee 5

I drive a Fiat 500 so it really narrowed down our choice of pushchair. I wanted to be able to fold down a pram to fit in my boot without having to take off any wheels. After lots of research and trying them out in shops we settled on the Bugaboo Bee 5. With the toddler seat attached it folds perfectly into my boot and I was also pleasantly surprised to discover that the infant carrycot will also fit in the boot with the chassis!

It ticked the rest of my boxes too, being suitable from birth and having the option of parent and world facing. Oh and it looks good too! We settled on all black including the hood and carrycot but it’s all set up but stored back in the box at the moment so this photo is from when I was testing it around Mothercare!

Maxi Cosy CabrioFix

Another decision that was narrowed down by my car! My cousin gave us her old compatible isofix base and I can just get this car seat in and out behind my passenger seat. Phew! With the purchase of some adaptors it will also fit on the Bugaboo chassis.

Joy and Joe Baby Wrap

I was very kindly gifted this wrap from Joy and Joe and I can’t wait to try it when baby is here. It’s made from organic bamboo and is oh so soft. I was a little nervous about the idea of trying a wrap and not being able to tie it properly, but the instructions are so clear and easy to follow and I’ve been practising already. The wrap is suitable from birth and comes in its own storage bag, with the cutest little matching hat too! It’s so reasonably priced, look out for a full review once baby is here.

I’ve always known I’d like a co-sleeper crib since I became aware that they existed. I love the style of the SnuzPod and the removable bassinet feature. There’s also a great range of accessories that I might try out once I’ve been using the crib for a while and know what I’ll find useful. The SnuzPod comes with a mattress and I’ve also purchased a waterproof mattress protector and bedding set. No photo as we haven’t actually set it up yet… it’s on the to-do list for this week!

I’m sure we’ll decide that we need a few more items, like a bath, monitor, bouncer, as we go along but we don’t have much storage room at the moment and didn’t want to end up buying things we turned out not to need.

Is there anything you think I’ve missed?

Thanks for popping by,

Kimberley x
